Ezekiel 36:32 "But remember, says the Sovereign Lord, I am not doing this because you deserve it. O my people of Israel, you should be utterly ashamed of all you have done!"
Wow, that caught my attention when God said He was restoring us as His holy people not because we deserve it but because we have brought shame to His holy name. But as I think about this, God does sound a lot like a dad, and the Bible does say God is our heavenly Dad. I think God is doing His role as our Father, and TEACHING us something here. We've been spoiled, and acting like little kids but God wants us to mature. Ive done some shameful stuff in the past, but I need to learn from the past so I won't have to go through this shamefulness again!
I can find out mistakes that we God's "holy people" did in the Bible. In the Old Testament, God had to repeatedly do so many things because His people started sinning against Him over and over again. But this is one way where I can turn history around, so not everybody will end up shaming themselves again. Another way is to listen and have a discussion with Pastors, Leaders, and other people. Learn from their experience, and you'll skip loads of times, and not end up wasting anytime.
Dear God,
Thank you for this word. I don't want to repeatly be shameful over and over again, especially since you had to deal with it since the beginning of man. I would get sick of it, but yet you continue to keep teaching me from these mistakes and you make so many opportunities for me to not waste time living a life of shame, but a life that glorifies you. Heavenly Father, help me to keep glorifying you, and I pray that you'll continue to teach me.
In Jesus Name Amen.
