Faith of Understanding

Matthew 15: 26 Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters table.” 28 “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.”And her daughter was instantly healed.

If Jesus responded what he said in verse 26, I would have given up. But I am amazed at what this Gentile woman replied! Because of her faith, she was able to give a wise reply! Faith was what got her request to be instantly granted.

I need to have faith in God. Not just believing that God would answer my pray if I kept begging him, but I also need knowledge. Faith isn't just coming to Jesus and knowing that Jesus would grant my request. Faith is understanding.

Dear God,
Thank you for this scripture of great faith. This woman clearly understood what it meant to have faith. Lord how can I go and apply for college if I do not understand!? I may have the faith that I will get in, but I have to understand how to get in! Faith is just not believing it will happen but understanding what I am asking! Jesus no wonder you were so great. You understood everything and even made man's knowledge looked like trash. God I pray for a faith of understanding. Because I am constantly dealing with little understanding. Show me the way to understand. It's by your grace and mercy that tells me it is okay to make mistakes. Your disciples made mistakes all the time and they were with you! God I pray that you will bless me in understanding everything from your Word to my academics. Thank you Jesus for revealing this to me today!
In Jesus Name Amen.
