Just the Messenger

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.

It is God's will that we preach the Good News! But Paul said in this scripture that we need to preach, in fearing that Jesus' cross would lose it's power. The Cross is what caused a change in my relationship with God. It's at the Cross where I surrender my life to Jesus. The Cross is an important factor in my relationship with Jesus. The Cross has a value worthy of my life.

I need to understand that when I preach the Good News, it's not to be on stage, with fancy words and wisdom. I need to be preaching so that the Cross of Christ would be powerful.

Dear God,
Lord I now understand why it is you who changes us. The anointed people, prayer warriors, they are only here to deliver the message so that I would return to the Cross. How foolish it would be for me to go to your Cross and not understand that it has the power to change everything about me. It is at the Cross where you poured out Blood and cover me. God when I witness and reach out to others, I need to know that I'm preaching so that you will change them! It is not my words, not my wisdom, nothing of me but only you! Jesus I need to start spending time HEARING your voice! I need to be in prayer asking if it is your will for me to do this or say that. God I pray right now that you will equip me with a passion to start asking you, getting your command, learning your will!
In Jesus Name Amen!
