Setting My Sights On the Realities of Heaven

Colossians 3:1 "Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand."

I died to this life and my real life is hidden with Christ in God. In the new life that I have through Jesus, it doesn't matter if I'm a Jew or Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters and He lives in me.

I need to think about the things of heaven and not the things of earth. The Bible says when my life, Christ, is revealed to the whole world, then I will share in all His glory. I need to be blameless, having nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. A greedy person is an idolater, worshiping things of the world. Colossians 3:11 says "Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him." I need to clothe myself with "tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." (Colossians 3:12). One reality of heaven is that there is no sin in that place. There's no impatient, rudeness, grudges, harsh. I need to work on the eternal things: the characteristic of Christ, the fruits of the Holy Spirit, the will of God is what I need to set my sights on. And Matthew 6:19 says that the treasures I store here on earth will be destroyed by moth and rust, and where thieves will break in and steal.

Dear God,
Lord I thank you for the realities of heaven because it shows hope in this world. God there's a place where the righteous, the pure, the holy, and the godly people are at. God your faithful children are there with you! And you give new life to those to seek you with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. God help me to take my eyes off the pleasing things this world has and help me to truly seek you. Renew my strength when I am weak. Lord when I am physically weak, my spirit can be strong. So let me fast from things and persevere so I can become spiritually stronger. Teach me how to live this new life you have given me and I will live it out well. Jesus you are all that matters. Please hear me, and come God to give me your wisdom and understanding. I don't want to be complacent with my life or eat the bitter fruit of the way I live my life because I do not hate knowledge. I will accept you Lord. You are my guidance and shield. You will protect me wherever you send me. God I commit myself into your hands, as a seed. Nurture me and help me to grow into a grand tree and I will produce all the pleasing fruits you want!
