Proverbs 1:29-30 "For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the LORD. They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I correct them."
People rejected wisdom, but the LORD is wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 says the "Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge." That means these people hate God and did not fear the LORD.
Wisdom comes by being in reverence of God. If I'm going to have a profound respect for God then I will discipline myself from the correction of wisdom.
Dear God,
You said in wisdom that simpletons turn away from you-to death and that fools die by their own complacency. You reveal to us the fate for those who choose to not fear you and hate you. You said that they eat the bitter fruit of living their own way and choking on their own schemes. God I thank you for your mercy because if I listen to you then I will live in peace and that I won't fear anything that tries to harm me. Your wisdom can only lead me to victory, a path that crowns me with grace and be a chain of honor around my neck. I will listen to the wise, my father and mother. I will listen to you God and read your word. Jesus, please keep me on a path of righteousness so I won't be easily enticed by the treasures of this world.
In Jesus Name Amen.
