Definitly Heard You

Ezra 8:
21 And there by the Ahava Canal, I gave orders for all of us to fast and humble ourselves before our God. We prayed that he would give us a safe journey and protect us, our children, and our goods as we traveled. 22 For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen[r] to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, “Our God’s hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.” 23 So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.

Sometimes when I bodly state about how God can do this, I get second-thoughts. It is like "Oh no! What if God doesn't hear this guy? What if God does not provide for this girl?". All kinds of thoughts just run through my head.

Here Ezra made sure that God stuck to His words. He did not pray for himself, but he prayed that God will stick true to His words. Here Ezra fasted and EARNESTLY prayed to God! Earnest means with effort, intention, purpose, and zealous. It was not just any kind of one sentence prayer, but Ezra definitely made sure God heard his prayers.

Dear God,
I pray that I will be earnest at my prayers. I pray that I will fast atleast one meal, and use that time to earnestly pray to you. If I do these for you and not for myself, I pray that you will definitely show up and spend time talking with me. Like Martha and her sister, I pray that I will sit at your feet Jesus and let you minister to me. I pray that you'll change me, impact me, inspire me to do even more and bodly state that you truly are GOD.
In Jesus Name Amen.
