Reverence

Malachi 2: 5 “The purpose of my covenant with the Levites was to bring life and peace, and that is what I gave them. This required reverence from them, and they greatly revered me and stood in awe of my name. 6 They passed on to the people the truth of the instructions they received from me. They did not lie or cheat; they walked with me, living good and righteous lives, and they turned many from lives of sin."

The Bible said that I am a King and Priest of God. Levites are God's Priests. As I read this scripture, I look at what kind of Levites was serving God. They did not lie, cheat but more importantly they walked with God, living good and righteous lives, turned away from lives of sin. Am I even walking with God, or doing any of these? Do I even have reverence and stand in awe of God?

The covenant with God requires reverence from me. I need to honor, and adore God otherwise I am breaking God's covenant. I need to keep my covenant with God, and I can expect God to bring life and peace to me.

Dear God,
Thank you for this scripture. Lord I need to have reverence! How can I stand in awe of you, or adore and honor you if it is not reverence? I pray that you'll give me reverence, because I do not want to be a liar when I think I am. I pray that I'll focus on our relationship to really see you, to really hear you, to start honoring you because Jesus I want to live a life with you, not just serving you. Help me to start feeling you God.
In Jesus Name Amen.
