Here For You

Nehemiah 9: 19 "Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. ..."

In the context of this scripture, God went out into the world, invited and promised them that where He is taking them will be a land of abundant, where blessings would just pour out. When I go and invite people to come to church, I probably won't see them again. Most of the time when I invited them, it was like a once in a life time offer, and once you miss it, you lose it.

I should give the kids many opportunities to come to church. Or better yet, not abandon them in their own desert. God's pillar of cloud continued to guide the Isrealites out of the desert, and I need to continue to guide them. They were in the desert for 40 years, so what is my excuse to come one day, and be gone the next? It took God 40 years to bring them out. I need to do the same, with the same passion that God have.

Dear God,
I hope that I got the message in context of what you wanted to show me. But whatever it is, I pray that I'll have the same passion as you. You were willing to take 40 years to bring them out of the desert, and you continued to guide them through. Your presence never left them, and I pray that I will live the same as you. We should be more christ-like and if that is you, help me to have the same passion you have, and reach out to the kids in the community.
